2023 Cadillac Lyriq Review, Release Date

2023 Cadillac Lyriq

2023 Cadillac Lyriq – The brand’s first all-electric Cadillac Lyriq in 2023 is also the vanguard for some new EVs by General Motors.

This midsize electric luxury SUV is powered by new battery technology. It also features Cadillac’s most recent technology features.

The base Lyriq starts at $60,000. This puts Cadillac’s SUV lineup between the Escalade and the XT6 midsize SUV. It also includes the cost of a Tesla Model Y top-end SUV, but it is less than an Audi E-Tron.

Cadillac has stated that all of its vehicles will be electric by 2030. You can see how vital the first electric vehicle, the Cadillac Lyriq 2023 is to the brand.

The Lyriq sings a distinctly stylistic tune from its other internal combustion-powered brethren. One of the other Cadillac lines will take more than a few cues–no, not that CUE–from the future.

The Lyriq rear motor powertrain will provide a range of 300 miles. This is with a basic 100 kWh battery pack.

Cadillac will soon offer a dual-motor, V performance, and high-style variant in line with its current product strategy.

The Lyriq’s output is estimated at 340 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque. (The torque figure is 440 in Newton meters, which is the metric unit used by Cadillac to power its latest badge. When torque is rounded to the nearest 50, the base Lyriq has “450”.

2023 Cadillac Lyriq Design

The Lyriq is an essential point in the Cadillac style. Simcoe described it as “a change of pace, a new form, and a new language.”

While some developments have been to keep the Lyriq 2023 true to the Cadillac aesthetic, Smith and his team had a lot of fun designing the electric SUV, given how the EV is packaged.

Smith was taken aback by Lyriq, his first attempt at a ground-up EV. The look is complemented by short front and rear overhangs and a clear rear-drive position.

This station wagon is more refined and elegant than Cadillac’s current line of CT, which looks more yellow. It also evokes more art than science.

Simcoe describes the rear lighting elements as breaking up with the recent Cadillac. They framed the entire hatch glass and augmented what Simcoe called the Mondrian design.

2023 Cadillac Lyriq Concept

Cadillac’s first Lyriq concept car was unveiled last year. It was evident that the electric SUV was still far from being ready for production. Even the side mirror is missing from this car.

The Cadillac Lyriq 2023 is being shown in the production-ready form in preparation for its first electric vehicle (EV), which will launch in the early part of next year. It looks exactly like the concept.

The Lyriq concept is a transitional show car to street legal. It features sharp corners, sleek headlights, and an LED-coated grille.

Some of the original styling elements, like the large wheels and side-mounted camera, have been dropped from the production version.

Cadillac replaced them with 20-inch or 22-inch wheels, traditional side mirrors, and a set of standard wheels. A slightly different door construction was also added to improve visibility. Overall, there are not many changes.

Two exterior colors are available to buyers: Satin Steel Metallic and Stellar Black Metallic. There are also two options for cabin colors: Sky Cool Gray and Noir.

The interior sector features a 33.0-inch LED screen that can create more than a million colors. It is located in front of and in the middle of the dashboard.

Lyriq has active noise cancellation and a 19-speaker audio system with headrest-mounted speakers. GM’s Ultrium long-range lithium battery will power Cadillac Lyriq.

Performance

100 kWh of power gives Cadillac 340 horsepower (254 kilowatts), a maximum torque of 325 pound-feet (425 newton-meters), an EPA estimated range of at least 300 miles (483 km).

Cadillac will offer rear-wheel drive as a standard feature, but a Performance all-wheel-drive version will soon be available.

Lyriq customers can charge at DC public fast-charging stations with 190 Kilowatts of power. This gives Cadillac a range that is 122 km in 10 minutes.

A 19.2 kW home charging unit is also available. The Lyriq can also run up to 83 km with this option. The First Release Edition model will include the home charging option. It will also be available on all subsequent models.

2023 Cadillac Lyriq Engine

The Lyriq will be available in rear-wheel drive with an electric motor on the rear axle. All-wheel drive is optional and adds another engine to the front to drive the wheels.

Cadillac hasn’t provided any details about the Lyriq’s all-wheel-drive powertrain. The rear-wheel-drive Lyriq model is expected to produce 340 horsepower.

The direct nature of the electric motor’s power delivery means that acceleration will be fast, even at lower speeds. In 4.3 seconds, the I-Pace reaches 60 mph; Lyriq is expected to get the same Speed.

Cadillac Lyriq Range and Charging

General Motors will launch a new line of EV batteries with the Lyriq called Ultrium. This scalable technology allows General Motors to manufacture batteries in sizes from 50.0 to 200 kWh.

However, the largest sizes are reserved for large EV pickup trucks like the GMC Hummer EEV SUT. Cadillac claims the Lyriq will have a battery capacity of around 100 kWh.

It should be able to drive over 300 miles on a single charge. The Lyriq will have DC fast charging but will also be capable of charging at domestic electrical outlets.

2023 Cadillac Lyriq Interior

The concept car was shown with four seats and a central console divided the front and rear seats. There was also a touchscreen to assist rear passengers. However, the production model has a traditional rear bench seat.

Cadillac claims that the EV architecture creates a more open and airy cabin with ample space for passengers. The Cabin boasts advanced noise cancellation technology that reduces road noise.

Although the interior looks spacious, we will reserve judgment until we have a chance to test drive a Lyriq.

Like the new 2021 Escalade’s dashboard, Lyriq’s dashboard is dominated by a massive, 33.0-inch curved advanced LED display that serves as both the SUV’s infotainment system and the driver’s gauge display.

The Escalade’s infotainment system can also be controlled via a click wheel located on the center console. This is an excellent feature for those who don’t like touchscreens.

Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Wi-Fi hotspot will all be standard features of the Lyriq when it arrives in Cadillac showrooms. A 19-speaker stereo system by AKG, the top-end audio specialists, will be available.

2023 Cadillac Lyriq Technology

Cadillac’s latest tech tricks will be included in the Lyriq. The Lyriq will consist of the Super Cruise system, which allows hands-free driving on the highway under certain conditions. There will also be an automatic parking system that can be activated from outside the vehicle.

A two-tiered head-up display is also available. A close-up view shows Speed and other general information. At the same time, the distance level projects information such as changes to open lanes and navigation alerts.

This is similar to an augmented reality experience. Cadillac claims that the Lyriq will feature the latest noise-canceling technology to maintain cabin comfort.

The Lyriq’s exterior features a pair of narrow, vertically oriented headlights and a new grille design. The Lyriq striped LEDs give the Cadillac a layered protective look.

Cadillac Lyriq Charge Times

Cadillac claims that the Lyriq’s 19.2-kW onboard charger can provide up to 52 miles per hour. This charger is much more powerful than those on other EVs.

The Model Y has an 11.5-kW charger. You will need a vital home power source to fully utilize the Lyriq’s full potential (including a 100-amp circuit breaker). Lyriq’s lack of storage space is due to the charger being placed under the hood.

Cadillac claims that the Lyriq can charge DC stations at up to 190kW and achieves 76 miles in 10 minutes. This charging speed is comparable to that of the BMW iX’s DC charging Speed.

2023 Cadillac Lyriq Release Date and Price

Cadillac Lyriq 2023 will go into production in early 2022. However, buyers interested in the First Release Edition model may order it later in the year.

The base price for the Lyriq is $59,990. There are no option packages.
