2023 Kia Sedona: Everything We Know So Far

2023 Kia Sedona

2023 Kia Sedona – Kia calls the new Sedona minivan a versatile vehicle, for anything of value. Kia says its design is SUV-inspired because minivans are a non-grata vehicle these days, and its influence can be seen on the rear three-quarter display that shows the smell — of all things — of the Ford Expedition to surface interactions, such as longer, flat hoods.

The latter are visual tricks variously applied by minivan makers over the years to give their vans more rough off-road vibes, including by General Motors with the 2005-2009 U-platform “Crossover Sport Vans” and, famously (or famously) by Mazda with the original MPV minivan.

Sedona 2023 will probably dispel the van’s image with a few touches of SUV-inspired style, but we’re still not sure. This next-generation Sedona remains a continuous minivan and remains attractive at the time.

Sedona Features

The new model’s longer hood and contrasting color C pillars can accentuate thicker proportions, but it still has sliding doors and large glass areas that clearly identify it as a people carrier —not that it’s bad. Kia also installed a skid plate at the front end, which is ridiculous considering Sedona is unlikely to do off-road. The rear has a full-width LED rear light setting.

In the new Sedona, the headlights connect to Kia’s “tiger nose” grille (here filled with a diamond pattern mesh) through complex daytime walking lights that also greatly define each element. The uneven side of the van features sharp beltline folds that stretch from headlights to taillights as well as chrome trimmings along with the rocker panels.

This is very different from the new Toyota and Sienna 2021, which are more prominent and organic. Similar to the Sorento 2021 SUV, a chrome display panel with diamond pattern details are attached to pillar C to add additional hiss. Overall, the design seems to be built on the sophisticated simplicity of telluride’s hugely successful SUV.

Carnival/Telluride sits atop the company’s new midsize vehicle platform—perhaps the Hyundai-Kia N3 platform that also props up the all-new Kia K5 midsize sedan. This has led to some proportional changes. The front overhang is shorter, and pillar A is further back so the hood is longer.

It grew the other way. The wheelbase is one inch longer, and the overall length grows to 1.6 inches. A longer rear overhang provides more space behind the third seat for cargo — up to 22 cu. ft., with lift height minus one inch also for easy loading.

With an attractive touch of lighting, the high-beam headlights are located at the top corner of the grille, while the sein lights are under daytime running lights and the low lights remain in traditional sticky locations. Most of the headlight details echo in the backlight, which is placed in one full-width element.

Sedona’s cabin, meanwhile, evolved from today’s minivan. Like today’s Kia people, we expect the 2023 model to feature a center console that meets the dashboard, which includes two 12.3-inch screens — one serving as a digital measuring cluster, the other as an infotainment screen.

The screen is equipped with touch-sensitive climate control and a rotary gear selector. Expect smaller screens, analog meters, and physical climate control buttons to appear on lower-end models. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay will also be wireless in some markets.

And there will be room for a lot of people in it, at least in other markets. Some Carnivals will offer seating of 11 passengers in four rows. The three-line version will carry seven or eight passengers. There is even a configuration that offers a second row facing back.

we hope the new Sedona interior takes a big step in terms of high-end materials and available technology features. Kia has also not released any mechanical details about the new Sedona, although we hope it will continue with a front-wheel drive and a naturally sucked V-6 engine.

2023 Kia Sedona Engine

We also have some details about global powertrain options—but again, there’s nothing specific about what’s going to be offered in the US. These include the 3.5-liter GDI V-6 which produces 290 hp of power and 247 lb-ft of torque, which is an upgrade from the 3.3-liter V-6 offered in the 2021 Sedona which is good for 276 hp and 248 lb-ft.

There will also be a non-GDi V-6 that offers less power, and a 2.2-liter diesel engine, both of which we didn’t expect on Stateside. Kia also pointed to a number of handling changes — revised power steering racks, new suspension geometry, and revised spring levels, among others — that should improve driving comfort and overall refinement.

Kia Sedona safety

Kia also fills Carnival with a number of safety assistance technologies and active drivers, but since we’re not clear which ones will get to the U.S., we’ll delay talking about it until we get specific information for us. Market. Of course, with fewer than 6,000 Sedonas moving so far in 2020, we have to wonder if Kia will bother bringing new models to America this time.

We contacted Kia Motors America, who said, basically, there was nothing to say about the next generation Sedona until it happened. But even as Telluride brings many new buyers into Kia’s fold, there’s nothing better than easy-to-drive character and efficient practicality, and minivan packaging. Carnival only went on sale in Korea in the third quarter of this year, followed by other markets.

2023 Kia Sedona Release Date and Price

We haven’t got any official information about Kia’s US release date, so we don’t know much official info about when the van will reach the US. Kia says it will soon be sold in Korea with the global market to follow, so we think it won’t reach American dealers until next year as a 2023 model. We estimate the price will rise slightly above the initial cost of the current model of $31,520.
