2021 KIA Cadenza Features

That CADENZA is in all is proof of KIA’s commitment to body style sedan, and the 2021 model is definitely a comfortable, four-door premium car. The cabin materials are great for segments, which include the Toyota Avalon and Chrysler 300, and there are tons of front and rear cab rooms without the need for front-seat passengers to compromise for those in the back seat.

The new 12.3-inch touchscreen multimedia system is a welcome addition, as is the new standard advanced safety feature and adds a USB port (one more in front and two for the rear) and wireless charging. Even the retention of mechanical gear selector in the era of non-lever design and electronic selectors is not a bad idea, especially for segments older than car buyers.

2021 KIA Cadenza Engine

Aside from some mild changes in its appearance, the rest of the upgrades to the CADENZA are under the skin and are intended to improve the quality of the ride and comfort of passengers through reducing road noise. Since we haven’t pushed the new CADENZA yet, we can’t tell you how well they work. The only engine, 3.3 liters V-6 made 290 horsepower and was decimated into an eight-speed automatic transmission, unchanged from the model 2019.

More changes will be found inside. The US model receives new dashboards and instrument clusters, standard 4.2-inch TFT display in the instrument panel, a 12.3-inch Infotainment touchscreen system, a multi-color Ambient LED mood lighting, two Nappa color leather-trimmed seating (Brown and back Saddle), three additional USB ports, an enhanced 10-watt Wireless fast charger phone, and a new Smart Key as standard with a remote Start engine.

The updated KIA drive Wise Suite driver-tech help will also be present. Included are forward-collision warnings, the avoidance of forward collision assists with pedestrians/cyclist detection, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, High Beam Assist, Lane following assists, blind spot collision avoidance assist, Highway Driving assists, Smart Cruise Control-based navigation, and Safe Exit assists alerting drivers and passengers opening their doors to not exit if approaching traffic is detected.

2021 KIA CADENZA models will be sold exclusively with the 3.3-liter V6 engine delivering 290 HP through the front wheels and connected to the eight-speed Sportmatic transmission. Cars will be sold in technology and Limited trims.

The final product is a handsome, full-size sedan with high quality, high-tech interior, and a comfortable and adequate travel promise (but no eye-opening) power. But I have to ask: why? What’s the point? The Stinger is there with almost 100 more HP, more cargo space, a more stylish appearance and more than enough legroom space for most of the passengers. And for the more upscale-and more expensive-options, there is a K900 sedan. It’s nice that the CADENZA is still there, but it feels like a car aimlessly.
