2025 KIA Sorento
Kia has seen a severe uptick in recent years. From a company known for boring compacts like Forte and Soul, it now offers SUVs that would be impossible to get without a significant dealer markup.
Sorento, because there is no better word, is pretty good. Midsize SUV buyers who want affordable three-row seats flock to this Korean model.
2025 KIA Sorento
The New Sorento headlights are expected to have a much more rectangular design, a 3D geometric look, with a square shape at the corners.
This very unusual shape is related to the Kia EV9 production model to form a new design language for the Korean automaker.
The Sorento grille and headlights form a long hole similar to what BMW did a few years ago. But the Tiger Nose changed into a bolder design that made this family crossover look sporty, reminiscent of the Seltos.
The most significant change is expected to occur in the front, where the headlights can get radical changes without mimicking the Sportage’s smaller headlights.
The upper daylight LED light depicted here stretches near the center of the “tiger nose” grille. As for the main headlights, they are represented by a vertical strip next to the glossy black trim.
KIA Sorento Engine
Kia’s focus is affordability and practicality, but it strives to offer eco-friendly powertrain options across the range. Currently, the Sorento is shown in the United States with four tunings.
The base 2.5-liter four-cylinder is the most common, offering 191 horsepower. There is also a turbo version with 281 hp; since this is a new engine, it will most likely not change.
Two hybrids are also offered, based on the 1.6-liter turbo. One is a standard hybrid with 227 hp, and the other is a plug-in hybrid with 261 hp.
The purely electric version is off the agenda with a mid-cycle facelift, as Kia prefers a dedicated EV rather than a petrol/diesel model converted for EV duty.
As a result, the three-row EV9 using the E-GMP platform will come next year as the brand’s largest electric SUV.
2025 KIA Sorento Release Date
The official reveal is likely scheduled to take place at some point in 2024 in South Korea, with Europe and North America to get the Sorento facelifted a few months later, possibly in early 2025.
