But this transmission stars compared to the overly sensitive accelerator pedal. It takes a lot of concentration to apply the desired throttle amount. Most of the time, though, the right pedal reacts as if the soul is a living thing that has just been stamped, panicking and giving too much power. At the same time, maintaining a low speed, steady-say five miles per hour-on bumper-to-bumper traffic requires a large amount of concentration.
The concentration is well spent, though, due to the steady, gentle acceleration of keeping the Soul over-soft suspension of the fore and stern pitching. Sitting in the traffic in this KIA left me at the end of my wit as the car kept moving with all the grace and serenity of the Pontoon boat in the storm. I can forgive the number of body movements if the journey is a comfortable soul on speed, but the fact is that this car overall comfort ride is just average.
