New 2022 KIA Soul LX Review, Specs, Engine

New 2022 KIA Soul LX Review, Specs, Engine – 2022 KIA Soul, may be fully redesigned next year, has a lot going for it. Drivers in a crowded urban area will enjoy the nimble size, responsive machine and controlled journey over the corrugated sidewalk. Outside the city, the soul shines with crispy handling and a responsive steering wheel. You can become even more soul-pleasing factor by equipping it with punchy turbocharged engines and Sport-tuned suspensions.

No matter where you live, the spacious soul cabin and useful cargo space make it a perfect everyday car. We also like the competitive price, which cuts most of the rivals without compromising the quality of the interior material or feature content.

As is the case with cheap small car prices, there are some drawbacks. The All-wheel drive is unavailable, which may be a Deal-Breaker for buyers in ways that are experiencing cold or snowy road conditions. And that sport-tuned Soul, GT-Line Turbo, suffers from a clunky-shifting transmission and a hard ride quality. But overall we think 2022 KIA Soul rises above other subcompact crossovers thanks to the combination of practicality, affordability, and emphasis on fun.

If you usually drive alone or with one passenger, the S model is a good way to go. For more family or friends-oriented tasks, EX is what you want. In addition to a ton of additional features, the camera also adds a rear armrest and adjustable headrest (a cheaper model equipped with a fixed headrest). You also get the cargo cover and removable cargo floor, which helps to create a flat load space as you drop the rear seat.

2022 KIA Soul is available in LX, S, X-line, GT-line, EX, and GT-Line Turbo models. The TRIM structure is surprisingly confusing, with X-line, GT-Line and EX models of all buildings from S Trim instead of each other. The LX is somewhat basic, but selecting continuous variable automatic transmission (CVT) adds some additional features. S mainly adds sophisticated driver safety aids. The X-line is a rough-looking variant, while the GT-Line delivers a sporty vibration. Finally, EX adds extra fancy features, and the GT-Line Turbo is a combination of the GT-Line and EX trims plus a more powerful engine.

Most souls are powered by a four-cylinder 2.0-liter engine (147 HP, 132 lb-ft). LX is equipped with a six-speed manual transmission as standard. An automatic CVT is optional on the LX and standard on all other trims with a 2.0-liter engine. The GT-Line Turbo has a unique powertrain for this model: a 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbocharged (201 HP, 195 lb-ft) paired into a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission automatically. All Souls are front-wheel-drives, and all-wheel drives are not available.

The base LX model is equipped with a 16-inch steel wheel, automatic front light, rear privacy glass, adjustable driver seat, rear seating 60/40 Split, Bluetooth, 7-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, and six-speaker audio system. Standard safety features include a rearview camera and a hill starting to help.

Selecting an LX model with CVT automatically also adds a stop-Start feature of the engine, a body-colored mirror, and doorknob, Remote locking/unlocking, cruise control, selected driving modes, and a storage console under the armrest.

Stepping into S Trim makes you alloy wheels, upgrade fabric upholstery and a long list of advanced driver tools. This includes a forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, keeping the path helpful, a blind-spot monitor with a cross-crossover warning, and a sleepy driver attention-warning system.

The X-line is a rough-looking model, with unique 18-inch wheels, special exterior body cladding, Foglights, silver mirror caps, roof rails, the LX from upholstery fabric, and the wrapped leather steering wheel. It does not have some Trim S driving aids, however, and it only has a blind-spot monitor with a rear cross-cross warning.

The GT-Line adds a sporty exterior accent, different 18-inch wheels, Foglights, gloss-Black Mirrors, a triangular-pattern Grille, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Forward collision warnings, line departure warnings, and sleepy driver warning systems are standard here.

EX model gains 17-inch wheels, headlight upgrades, LED Daytime running lights, foglights, a triangular-grid pattern, heated mirrors, keyless entry and ignition, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, wrapped leather steering wheel, wireless charging pad, second USB Port, a rear center armrest, Adjustable Rear Headrests, removable cargo floor, and cargo cover. The Infotainment system also got upgraded, with a 10.3-inch display, HD and satellite radio, voice recognition and a navigation system. All advanced safety features are also standard.

2022 KIA Soul LX Features

Top-Trim GT-Line Turbo basically combines the GT-line appearance with the EX feature, then adding a more powerful turbocharged engine. The content features are identical to EX, with the exception of the GT-Line 18-inch wheels, LED exterior lighting (head-, tail-and foglights), a chrome exhaust, sunroof, LED Interior lighting, fabric and imitation leather upholstery, Power-adjustable driver seats, heated steering wheel, and a 10-speaker Harman Kardon Premium audio system. The GT-Line Turbo also has pedestrian detection for forwarding collision systems, adaptive Cruise Control, and Head-up Display.
