2024 KIA Stinger: Will It Be Discontinued?
2024 KIA Stinger
Rumours circulated Kia would kill the critically acclaimed but best-selling sports sedan. The automaker’s traditional production cycle will show second-generation sedans appearing around the 2024 model year.
Still, the latest report from South Korea is that Stingers will switch to hybrid and E.V. production in Q2 of 2022.
While Kia has yet to confirm when the Stinger will be discontinued officially, the latest information suggests that the final year to buy it may be around 2023 or 2024.
The Stinger is an unusual vehicle, often compared to the Audi A5 Sportback luxury car and often crossed with cars such as the 2-door Ford Mustang.
Although the vehicle has undergone only minor changes over the years, the Stinger offers versatility buyers in sporty cars cannot quickly obtain.
Weak demand was the reason for Stinger’s death, the same reason that had been circulating about cars for about four years.
An immediate replacement has yet to be expected, although designer Karim Habib said last year that the EV6 GT electric crossover could play a similar role in the lineup.
In the U.S., sales of the once promising sedan declined dramatically. About 13,517 Stingers were sold in the U.S. last year; in 2022, Kia has sold less than half.
